Years of Impact
It Started With My Daughter
One Little Girl Changed Everything
In 2013, I looked at my two-year-old daughter and realised she was naturally shy.
Like every parent, I wanted her to grow into a confident, courageous young girl who believed in herself.
I searched for opportunities that would help her discover her confidence, develop her talents and express herself freely.
What I found was a gap. There were very few intentional spaces where children could grow in confidence while discovering their unique gifts.
Without knowing it, my daughter had inspired the beginning of what would become Kids Tiaras.
Sometimes the greatest movements begin with a mother\u2019s love for one child.

2013
Building Something That Didn’t Exist
The First Event
In 2013, the first Kids Tiaras event was held with just seven children — one of them the founder’s own daughter.
A Venue on Kiambu Road
A small hired venue along Kiambu Road became the birthplace of what would grow into a movement.
Personally Funded
Every expense was covered from personal savings — there were no sponsors and no partners, only conviction.
Marketing by Experience
With no marketing background, every lesson was learned by doing, one parent at a time.
A New Conviction
Convincing parents that confidence mattered far more than crowns.
When Children Taught Me My Purpose
The Testimonies That Changed Everything
After every event, parents returned with stories — and those stories changed me.
Children who had once been quiet were now speaking confidently. Those who had struggled with self-esteem were beginning to believe in themselves.
Teachers reported improved classroom participation. Children who had never celebrated success discovered what achievement felt like.
Seeing their confidence, courage and self-esteem improve convinced me that Kids Tiaras had become much bigger than an annual competition. It had become a calling.

From Events to Child Development
Coaching Before We Celebrate
By 2015, I knew children needed more than a single event. They needed guidance, mentorship and life skills.
So I began developing a structured confidence curriculum. In 2016, we ran our first five-day coaching programme — and every child received their own workbook.
To deepen this work, I became a certified Level 2 Kids Life Coach, ensuring every programme would be built upon proven child development principles.
Soon we expanded into schools, and the Saturday coaching sessions were born — a weekly space where children could keep growing long after the stage lights dimmed.

Dreaming Without Limits
Every Programme Was Born From Listening
None of these were created in a boardroom. Each one emerged because a need was identified among children, parents or schools — and we chose to respond.
Little Miss & Mr Kenya
A space for children to discover confidence, talent and self-expression.
Royal International Dance Competition
A professional stage for young dancers to grow in discipline and artistry.
Schools Clubs
Schools asking for year-round programmes beyond the annual competition.
Educational & Skills Development Tours
A yearning for global exposure and hands-on learning beyond borders.
Green Kids Awards
A platform for children leading environmental innovation in their communities.
Talent Identity Assessment
Parents asking how to truly understand their child’s unique gifts.
Every child deserves the opportunity to discover who they were created to become.
My Philosophy
In practice, this means we never ask a child to fit a mould. We create safe stages where they can explore who they are — their voice, their gifts, their courage.
It means we coach before we celebrate, we listen before we design, and we measure success not by trophies but by the confidence a child carries long after the applause has faded.
Every programme exists to serve this one belief: that within every child is a person of worth, waiting to be discovered.
I don’t dream of producing pageant winners.
I dream of raising confident young people who will one day become ethical leaders, compassionate citizens, innovators, educators, artists, entrepreneurs and changemakers.
Because when children learn to lead their own lives, they become capable of leading others.

A Letter to Every Parent
Thank you for trusting us with what matters most—your child.
Every programme we create begins with one simple question:
“Will this help a child discover who they were created to become?”
If the answer is yes, we give it everything we have.
Because every confident child changes a family. Every inspired family strengthens a community. And every empowered generation transforms a nation.
With gratitude,
Tinah Lughano
